Error: ScanDisk cannot check ...not properly formatted...(due to BGMAIL.EXE).
Error:
ScanDisk cannot check the drive as it is not properly formatted or a utility has locked it, format the hard disk or wait for the utility to finish and re-run ScanDisk
Cause:
The BGMAIL.EXE utility is preventing Windows 'Tools' from securing the hard disk.
Solution:
Disable the BGMAIL.EXE utility.
1) Open the Windows 95 files.
2) Locate the BGMAIL.EXE utility.
NOTE: BGMAIL.EXE will be located either in the WINSTART.BAT or AUTOEXEC.BAT files.
3) Open the correct .BAT file into the text editor.
4) Insert a semi-colon before the BGMAIL.EXE line.
5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save'.
6) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
7) Restart Windows 95.
8) Run the 'ScanDisk' operation.
